This specific digital painting reminds me of paintings from the old Dutch masters who painted during the Dutch Golden Age. The light in it is very gloomy, mysterious even, and the composition of it all makes it even more interesting. It feels like you are one of the guests at the table, playing the card game along with them. Furthermore, the details are great. Their clothing have some great textures, and the pattern of the red dress on the right woman is wonderful. The colours are great as well! The only thing that bothers me slightly, is that it seems somewhat 'cut out'. The middle woman, who is staring at you, misses a piece of her hair, and the man sleeping on the left is missing some of his hair as well. Although I do agree that it gives a more 'focused' view, it would have been nice to see the full composition, enhacing it's details.
That does not mean that I don't love it, because I really do! Keep up the great work!
I am very taken by this illustration...each face has its own unique thoughts to them...i love it..very deep...The light cast around the scene is just beautiful..i love the rustic feel it has to it..seems very serious and emotional, you have captured such intensity with in the characters' faces and everything seems to mesh together in a soft yet defined atmosphere..truly a beautiful piece of work..from the woman casting a look to you directly down to the wood table and the glass in the foreground..i would want to put this up in my barber shop...i havent been struck by anything like this in a long time...great job & "cheers" to you.
