The wild game by VirginieCarquin The wild game by VirginieCarquin
Some explanations about this illustration:
This is an illustration for a science fiction story, the main character participates in one dangerous game called "Henkani", it consists in catching alive, one of those big beast with a kind of horned horse and a whip.
The action takes place at the end of the summer when the first rains arrive, the soil is arride (where the presence of dust), and the stormy sky.
I hope you enjoy it?

Very well done. The dust effect adds a nice effect with the wind swirls, however, it seems a little too dusty, could use some reduction on that.

The savagery of the beast is well captured and defined, however, the calmness of the rider does not seem to match well. While it does make the rider seem fearless, in the moment of attack, fear or not, some emotion should be seen, maybe that of victory or confidence. This looks more like a determined face to be used in the chase, not the attack.

The horse is very well done. I like that there is a little emotion even in the horse's eye and it captures that feeling of fear while its rider pushes it onward.

The effect of the whip is also captured well, however, the trail of the whip is in the wrong place for the positioning of the arm. The arch would either be over the wrist if swinging it around the head before the snap, or the whip would be out in front if the arch is in front of the wrist.

Overall a great work, the whip aspect is not something that detracts from the work only an observation of whip mechanics. The rest though is a great work. I'd like to see more.
